The process
How a Visa Run Works, Step by Step
Five stages, from your first message to arriving back in Da Nang or Hoi An.
Send an inquiry
Tell us your nationality, where you are staying, your preferred date and how many people are travelling. No passport scans at this stage.
Confirm the plan
We reply with the right option, the pickup time, what the price covers and what it doesn't. You confirm in writing.
Prepare documents
We check your passport and visa details, apply for your Vietnam e-visa with Lao Bao as the entry gate if you book it with us, and brief you on the Laos visa.
Border day
Early pickup, drive to Lao Bao, exit Vietnam, enter and leave Laos, then re-enter Vietnam on your new e-visa. You present your own documents at each counter.
Back home
We drive you back to Da Nang or Hoi An. Note the new end date of your permitted stay.
Border day, hour by hour
Same-day trip
Da Nang / Hoi An → Lao Bao → back
Pickup in Hoi An or Da Nang
Your car collects you from your home, hotel or an agreed meeting point. Hoi An pickups leave about 30–45 minutes earlier than Da Nang.
Through the Hai Van tunnel to Hue and Dong Ha
The road goes north past Hue to Dong Ha, then west on Highway 9 into the hills. Our coordinator explains each step of the border procedure on WhatsApp while you travel.
Arrive at Lao Bao and exit Vietnam
Queue at the Vietnam exit counter. As soon as you have your exit stamp, send us a clear photo of it so our team can follow your new Vietnam e-visa.
Laos side at Dansavanh
Eligible passports get a Laos visa on arrival here (form, photo, fee in USD). Visa-exempt nationalities just get an entry stamp. You then complete the Laos exit formalities.
Re-enter Vietnam
Show your new Vietnam e-visa (entry gate: Lao Bao) at the Vietnam entry counter. Before leaving the area, send us a photo of your new entry stamp so we can check it.
Lunch and drive back
A lunch stop near the border, then the same road back south.
Back in Da Nang or Hoi An
Drop-off at your home, hotel or meeting point.
Times are typical, not guaranteed.
At the border
A land border crossing has two sides. You pass Vietnamese exit formalities at Lao Bao, walk across to Dansavanh for Lao entry (and visa on arrival if you need it), then Lao exit, then Vietnamese entry. You present your own passport at every counter. Officers may ask about your plans; answer truthfully.
We explain beforehand what to expect at each counter. We cannot stand in for you, speed up an official process or influence an officer's decision, and anyone who says they can should be treated with caution.
Get an exact quote for your dates
